Roofing Staples Vs Nails

From my understanding properly places staples vs properly placed 2 nails have little to no difference in holding power the argument is that staples will break easier.

Make no mistake we are in business to make money. A roofer can hold a bunch of sticks of staples in their pocket and reload their gun very quickly. Coil nail guns are literally fed with a coil of nails and the holder for the nails makes the gun much bulkier. Does underwriters laboratories ul recognize the use of staples.

Ul which historically used staples for wind speed testing. 1 1 2 galvanized roofing nails require 30 50 lbs. Staples should be totally banned from the roofing industry. Staples are much more compact.
